This is a 35 kilometer bike ride on mostly paved roads winding through jungle and rice paddies. The highlights include elephant riding on the beautiful banks of the Nam Khan River, Wat Pa Phon Phao temple, visit to Henri Mouhot’s tomb on the banks of the river, and swimming at the Tad Sae Waterfall (seasonal) or take a short jungle walk to see a baby elephant in the jungle.
Meet your guide early morning to get fitted on one of Tiger Trail’s quality mountain bikes. We’ll ride from the city to our first stop at Wat Pa Phon Phao, a forest temple with a great view of Luang Prabang.
Follow the paved road further through teakwood forests and rice fields along the Nam Khan River to visit the resting spot of Henri Mouhot.
The highlight is elephant riding in the stunning landscape with a background of jungle covered mountains and you’ll enjoy lunch in a beautiful setting. Take a boat ride to visit the Tad Sae Waterfall for a refreshing swim (August through January) or to a short jungle walk with visit to a baby elephant in the jungle (February through July).
After a short return boat ride, continue biking through beautiful scenery on a new path return to Luang Prabang.

The waterfall is dry during February-August
